Heating and Cooling
Heating and Cooling HVAC System
The heat is automatically controlled by zones.
Zone 1 - Remote controlled wall unit in hallway (above bar) controls kitchen, dining room, living room, and entry. To supplement heat, turn on fireplace - be sure to open glass doors (but do not leave fireplace unattended).
Zone 2 - Remote controlled wall units in each of the bedrooms (Lake, Pine, Overlook, Pond, and Grove) are for heating and cooling in those rooms.
Zone 3 -Remote controlled wall unit in the Game Room controls the heat and cooling for the upstairs game room. Wall Thermostat in lower game room controls electric baseboard heat in that room.
Zone 4 - Remote controlled wall unit in downstairs Family Room is for heating and cooling in that room.
Zone 5 -The hallway half bathroom and the ensuite Lake bathroom have thermostat electric baseboard heaters.
Zonw 6- Atrium controlled by a wall thermostat electric baseboard unit.
Feel free to utilize the ceiling fan on to more evenly distribute the heating and cooling.

We want to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable, so here are some instructions on how to use the multiple mini-split HVAC units in our home:
1. Location: Our home is equipped with eight mini-split HVAC units located throughout the house and game room. Each unit has its own remote control for convenient operation.
2. Turning On/Off: To turn on the unit, locate the power button on the remote control and press it. The unit will start running and begin to regulate the temperature. To turn off the unit, simply press the power button again.
3. Mode Selection: The remote control offers several operating modes to suit your preferences. Look for the mode button, usually labeled "Mode" or represented by icons. You can choose from the following modes:
Cool Mode: This mode is used for cooling the room. Press the mode button until you see the cooling icon (usually represented by a snowflake or a drop of water) on the remote control's display.
Heat Mode: If you need to warm up the room, select the heat mode. Press the mode button until the heating icon (often depicted by a sun or a flame) appears on the display.
Fan Mode: This mode circulates air in the room without heating or cooling it. Press the mode button until you see the fan icon on the display.
DO NOT USE Auto Mode in any of the bedrooms or downstairs family room - see Shared Condensors below: In this mode, the unit automatically adjusts between cooling and heating based on the desired temperature you set. Press the mode button until you see the auto icon on the display.
4. Temperature Adjustment: The remote control allows you to set your desired temperature. Look for the temperature up and down buttons, usually represented by an arrow pointing up and an arrow pointing down. Press the up arrow to increase the temperature and the down arrow to decrease it. The current temperature setting is typically displayed on the remote control's screen.
5. Fan Speed: You can also adjust the fan speed to control the airflow in the room. Look for the fan speed button, often labeled "Fan" or represented by icons. Press it to cycle through different fan speed options, such as low, medium, and high.
6. Directional Louvers: Some units have adjustable louvers that allow you to direct the airflow. Look for the louver control button or arrows on the remote control. Use it to change the direction of the air up or down, left or right, as needed.
7. Sleep Mode: If you prefer a quieter operation while sleeping, check if the remote control has a sleep mode. Activating this mode will adjust the temperature and fan speed to provide a comfortable environment for sleep.
8. Closing the Unit: When you check out or no longer need the HVAC unit, please turn it off using the power button on the remote control. Closing the unit helps conserve energy and maintain its longevity.
9. Shared Condensers: Please note that the 5 bedroom and downstairs family room mini-split HVAC units in our home share condensers, which means they need to be set to the same mode to function properly. This ensures that the cooling or heating load is balanced among the units connected to the same condenser. Do not use "AUTO" mode in any of the bedrooms or downstairs family room.
10. Syncing Modes: If you are using multiple mini-split HVAC units in different rooms, it's important to synchronize the modes of the units that share condensers. For example, if you set one unit to "Cool" mode, make sure the other units connected to the same condenser are also set to "Cool" mode or that the other units are turned off. Guests need to choose if they wish to use "HEAT" or "COOL" mode consistently across all 5 bedrooms. This helps maintain optimal performance and prevents any imbalances in the system.
11. Adjusting Temperature and Fan Speed: You can still independently adjust the temperature and fan speed of each mini-split HVAC unit, even if they share condensers. You can also have any of the mini-splits turned OFF. When a unit is turned off, it will not cause an imbalance in the system. The synchronization requirement only applies to the operating mode. So feel free to set the desired temperature and fan speed for each unit according to your comfort preferences.
If you have any questions or concerns about the operation of the mini-split HVAC units or need assistance in synchronizing the modes, please contact us. We're here to help ensure your stay is pleasant and comfortable.
